Who We Are: Student Members are students enrolled in a teacher preparation course in a Colorado accredited public or private college or university who do not have a teaching contract. Students studying in alternative license programs are also welcomed for NEA-CEA membership. As a student member, you can access resources and connect with working professionals to help you enter the classroom ready to reach, teach and inspire.
Colorado is experiencing the beginning of a teacher shortage with some districts not starting the school year with enough classroom teachers or special educators to deliver our best to students. We value your decision to become the next caring, committed teacher our students need, and we raise the voice of educators with State and school district officials so they make decisions and policies that create rewarding career opportunities in our schools. Great employees are demanding great employers, and joining the CEA-NEA is a step you can take now to make all of our school districts the best employers they can be. How to Join Us: Enroll now on the NEA website. Many colleges and universities in the state have active Local Assocations on campus for students studying education. Ask about belonging to the Local Association with your teaching program or contact CEA's Cody Dreher by email or Kallie Benjamin by email, or call either at 303-837-1500 (1-800-332-5939) for membership information.
We hope you will join the hundreds of Student Members in Colorado who have decided to join their national, state and local professional associations that work collectively to help every student thrive.
