We Support Safe, Equitable, and Welcoming Schools for Educators, Students, and the Community
Politicians and corporations have created winners and losers in our public education system. The focus of public education has shifted away from providing much needed social and emotional support for students. Top-down decision making has become the norm. Our mental health providers, including counselors, social workers, and SPED educators have unreasonable caseloads and are not able to provide the necessary services to students to help them be successful.
At the same time, our communities have been left behind and are not meaningfully engaged in their local schools. We are creating a collaborative processes to better engage all stakeholders and make the public schools the center of our communities once again.
Our students deserve to experience positive discipline strategies, a culturally relevant curriculum, and a diverse educator workforce that reflects our school communities. Every individual that enters a school building should be welcomed, supported, and safe.
