Health Information Network provides staph infection resources for parents and educatorsParents and school staff are very concerned about the MRSA (Staph infection) now making national news. The good news is that the numbers are actually very small and, by taking a number of concrete steps, both school staff members and students can stay safe. The NEA Health Information Network (NEA-HIN) has just published information about the infection and efforts to combat it. The HIN information is based on research from the Centers for Disease Control, formatted for public school use. At this site, you can also check out the School Crisis Guide which was initially developed by CEA staff and others in Colorado following the Columbine tragedy and which was recently updated.
