Kerrie Dallman, President

Kerrie Dallman is a high school social studies teacher on leave from her teaching responsibilities in Jefferson County School District.  She earned her teacher license and a B.A. in Sociology from Metro State College of Denver.  Kerrie started serving a three-year term as CEA president in July 2012.  She previously served as president of the Jefferson County Education Association, representing all licensed, non-administrative employees in JeffCo Public Schools, Colorado’s largest school district.

Under her leadership, JCEA helped her district secure a $39.5 million federal grant for the “Strategic Compensation” plan, which is testing a targeted, performance-based compensation system focused on student achievement and on attracting, retaining, and rewarding high-performing educators.  She also collaborated with JPS to form an unprecedented “employee summit” of teachers and classified staff, administrators and school board members to reach consensus on how to best mitigate the damage of nearly $40 million in cuts to Jefferson County public schools.

Kerrie is one of only four teachers appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter in 2010 to serve on the Council on Educator Effectiveness, which made 60 recommendations on the implementation of Senate Bill 191.  She is one of two Colorado teachers selected for the Aspen Teacher Leader Fellows program, a cohort working to strengthen and improve the profession of teaching and the educational outcomes of America’s K-12 students.
